- ➤ On Wednesday, August 6, the Grand Island Public Schools Foundation honored six educators as Teacher of the Year during an all-staff assembly; the winners — including educators from elementary, middle and high schools, a specialist, a staff member and an administrator — received plaques and cash awards after more than 2,000 nominations were submitted. - ➤ Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced today that refunds totaling about $30,000 were secured for nearly 300 Nebraska businesses misled by deceptive mailers from Fast Filing Services LLC—businesses that overpaid by extra fees for their state filings.
