Scanner traffic reported a structure fire near the intersection of Highway 2 — Webb Road on the northside of Grand Island at 4:45 a.m. on August 5.

Early Tuesday morning, Grand Island Fire Department responded to a fire at the former Grand Island Veterans Home, which started in the boiler room — no injuries were reported and cleanup operations continue while investigators work to determine the cause.

A structure fire broke out at the Old Grand Island Veterans Home on the northside of Grand Island at 4:32 a.m. Tuesday—firefighters quickly put out the blaze.
