- ➤ Grand Island Public Schools will welcome Amy Richards as Coordinator of Early Childhood Education and Sarah Sell as Assistant Principal at Starr Elementary in summer 2026. - ➤ Caitlin Stump, a Special Education teacher at Grand Island Central Catholic, was named the 2025 Kim West Dinsdale Excellence in Teaching Award recipient on Dec. 19 by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation, earning $5,000 plus $2,500 for charity. - ➤ Grand Island officials are trying to control bed bugs at Centennial Towers after limited resident cooperation (one veteran and one woman) allowed the issue to continue; Hall County Commissioners will meet with Housing Authority representatives on Jan. 13 to plan further steps. - ➤ The Hall County Housing Authority is addressing a bedbug issue at Centennial Towers by increasing inspections and maintenance to keep living standards high, though two residents have so far refused some remediation efforts. KSNB
