  • St. Pauls Lutheran Church will host its 28th annual Community Christmas Dinner from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 25 at 1515 S. Harrison — around 1,000 guests will enjoy a traditional meal of turkey, ham, and pumpkin pie while volunteers are needed on Dec. 22, 23, and 25 with sign-up ending on Dec. 18.  Central Nebraska Today
  • Willow Rising announced a new interim executive director on Wednesday afternoon to guide the organization. Details about the leadership change remain limited as community members await further updates.  KSNB
  • YWCA Grand Island has accelerated its 'Building Brighter Futures' campaign by renovating two modular buildings at 315 Wyandotte to house the Almost Home after-school program + meet state licensing standards, paving the way for Phase 2 to add 150 licensed childcare spots.  Central Nebraska Today

  • The Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced a partnership with CareerPathway.com to boost local career opportunities and strengthen the workforce pipeline. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nebraska Extension will host its 2026 Calving College series with three webinars on Jan. 19, Jan. 26 & Feb. 2 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. CT and hands-on workshops at four locations from Feb. 9 to 12 in Nebraska and South Dakota. Registration costs $80 and must be completed by Jan. 12.  Nebraska TV

  • Nebraska football’s Kenneth Williams and Jacory Barney, Jr. were honored as all-conference performers by the Big Ten’s media and coaches on Wednesday. The honors recognized Williams as a top return specialist and Barney for his performance on special teams.  Central Nebraska Today
