- ➤ A YMCA spokesman explained at a Nov. 12 City Council meeting that the proposed Aquatics Complex should have 8 to 10 lanes, a diving board, and a warm water therapy pool to better serve local swim meets and lessons—he said the YMCA is considering building a new facility next to the current pool that has served Grand Island since 1979. The $15 million project aims to bring improved competitive and recreational swimming options to the community. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ GI Family Radio in Grand Island will launch a dedicated 24/7 Christmas music station on 99.7 FM on Dec. 1 and will broadcast holiday tunes through Christmas Day. CEO Alan Usher said the station will offer a mix of classic carols and modern favorites for listeners of all ages. Nebraska TV

- ➤ The Heartland Events Center in Grand Island has announced that professional indoor football will return to the city for the first time since 2019. - ➤ Top-ranked Nebraska volleyball swept defending champion Penn State Friday night at John Cook Arena with scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-14—moving the team to within one match of an undefeated regular season.
