- ➤ Grand Island’s Southern Public Power District board approved a 2.5% rate increase and a 50% reduction in the Power Cost Adjustment effective January 1 for 2026 during its November 12 meeting—this change will add about $5.70 per month for a typical residential customer using 1,450 kWh while keeping overall rates lower than in 2013 amid rising wholesale power costs.
