COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Project Hunger held its annual Harvest Festival at the Grand Generational Center in Grand Island Sunday afternoon. KSNB
- ➤ Hy-Vee is launching a community support initiative that runs from today until November 7 to provide free meals for kids 12 and under from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at hot food service stores and $3 meals for others; the grocery chain is also offering $5 and $10 food bank donation bundles for local pantries and will soon share affordable meal recipes on social media. - ➤ A temporary pause in SNAP benefits has made it hard for many Grand Island families to buy milk, eggs and fresh produce, and Heartland United Way is calling on residents for food and monetary donations to help fill the gap (donations will be matched up to $10,000 to support local food pantries). KSNB
- ➤ Hy-Vee has announced a community support initiative to assist local food banks during the SNAP benefit pause. The program (designed to address record demand) will roll out as more families seek help in the coming weeks. KSNB

- ➤ Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule confirmed on Sunday that sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola suffered a lower‐leg injury during the USC game—he will miss the rest of the season. KSNB
- ➤ On Sunday, Nebraska volleyball beat Oregon 25-21, 25-20, 25-12 at John Cook Arena with 8,495 fans in attendance, and the Huskers improved to 22-0 while extending their win streak to 40 sets—Taylor Landfair led with 10 kills as Harper Murray and Virginia Adriano added key plays. KSNB
- ➤ Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola broke his fibula and will miss the rest of the season after leaving Saturday’s loss to USC with an ankle injury from a sack.
