The Grand Island Historical Society dedicated a new marker at L.E.

Ray Park Friday to honor the 1967 flood that forced evacuations when 14 inches of rain fell from June 7th to June 15th. Sponsored by the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation (marking its 65th anniversary), the project is the largest state historical marker effort ever undertaken and shows how flood safety changes have been made in Grand Island.
