Nebraska football beat Houston Christian 59-7 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
Starters sat out the second half—preparing for the game against Michigan next Saturday—as the Huskers improved to 3-0.
Grand Island dropped its home opener 30-3 to Lincoln East at Memorial Stadium on Friday night as Lincoln East built an early lead with several touchdowns—Grand Island only scored late with a 40-yard field goal.
The Islanders will host Elkhorn South next Friday while Lincoln East is set to play Lincoln Southwest.
Nebraska finished non-conference play with a 59-7 win over Houston Christian and posted strong numbers on offense and defense.
The Huskers now prepare to face No. 24 Michigan next Saturday with high hopes for a tough matchup.
