GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grand Island’s chief financial officer presented the proposed budget to the city council on Monday with a lower mill levy in the plan. A Nebraska state senator called for a University of Nebraska regent to resign after a drunk driving crash caused serious injuries. KSNB
- ➤ On Monday, Grand Island’s chief financial officer presented the proposed fiscal year budget to the city council. The budget recommends lowering the mill levy (which has kept property tax collections flat at about $12.8 million since 2018) to ease the burden on residents. KSNB
