- ➤ The Grand Island Police Department received a $25,000 grant from NDOT to fund extra overtime patrols and drug recognition shifts during the Nebraska State Fair and through Labor Day weekend—ending September 1—to target impaired driving and keep roads safe. Central Nebraska Today
