The Nebraska State Fair will offer free world-class performances from August 22 to September 1 at Fonner Park—visitors can see a rescue dog stunt show, trained sea lions promoting ocean conservation, and a walking tree along with other acts in Grand Island.

Students began school at Wasmer Elementary in Grand Island on August 13—officials offered back-to-school tips to help parents during the transition to the new academic year.
