In Wood River, an abandoned nursing home was turned into a Legacy Center that houses a library, food pantry, senior lounge, fitness center, daycare and storm shelter.
The facility, which opened Saturday, offers meals at $8 for adults under 60 and expands community space after abandonment in 2019.
🎭 Culture
A Nebraska State Historical Marker for Fonner Park was dedicated on July 23 at its administrative entrance.
It was sponsored by local groups including Fonner Park (the Hall County Agricultural Society with support from Gerene Williams in memory of her husband) as part of the Centennial Marker Project.
