- ➤ Local4 has joined NBCUniversal’s Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign that will start on Aug. 1 to help local shelters raise funds and encourage pet adoptions. The event will run through Aug. 31 and will include a virtual pet adoption drive through Sept. 15. KSNB

- ➤ On July 24, a 71-year-old golfer at Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island felt pain in his back and discovered a small puncture in his shirt and skin, and he believed he was hit by a pellet or BB gun—police are investigating the case. Central Nebraska Today
