- ➤ A Grand Island woman, Ember Bravo, 32, appeared Tuesday in Hall County Court on a felony theft charge from nonprofit Willow Rising after police reported that two cash deposits totaling $1,881 were missing from 12 scheduled deposits—she is set to return on Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. KSNB

- ➤ NU President Dr. Jeffrey Gold met with state leaders and educators in Grand Island on July 22 to discuss workforce challenges, budget cuts, and the university’s $6.4 billion economic impact — noting that one in every seven Nebraskans received a NU education. Central Community College President Matt Gotschall said local educational partnerships can help retain local talent — paving the way for a future facility in Grand Island. Nebraska TV

- ➤ Grand Island’s new Fire Station Three is nearing the end of phase one with construction almost complete, featuring added ambulance space and private bedrooms to support growing call volume.
