  • Visitors to Happy Jack Peak and Chalk Mine can join the 'Putting Off the Peak' event today as they try to drive golf balls from near the top into a sandbar in the North Loup River from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.—the mine will offer guided tours on its history and cool 53-degree interior and remain open daily until Oct 10.  The Grand Island Independent

  • Executive Director Jaime Parr told the State Fair board on Friday that this year’s Nebraska State Fair will include 5,177 hours of activities—promising a rich lineup of events for fairgoers.  The Grand Island Independent
