Regional updates include 4-H Golden Clovers assisting at Adams County Fair Fest, Aurora Public Schools custodial work ahead of the new school year, and Kearney's 38th annual Cruise Nite event kickoff. - ➤ A Grand Island couple in their late 70s lost $276,000 in a clearinghouse scam that promised them over $4 million if they paid fees+ police are investigating the scam and processing the victims’ phones to gather more details. KSNB
- ➤ Grand Island police stopped Tonya Robertson at 9:13 p.m. on July 16 for driving without lights, and a record check showed she had a suspended license—officers then found methamphetamine, mushrooms and marijuana in her car and arrested her for driving under revocation, possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. - ➤ Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced they will sue Colorado on Wednesday morning for taking too much water and blocking supplies as part of the long-running South Platte Compact dispute — Nebraska is advancing plans to complete the Perkins County Canal by 2032. Colorado Governor Jared Polis called the lawsuit meritless and pledged to defend Colorado water rights in court. KSNB
- ➤ On Wednesday the Grand Island Fire Department welcomed its new Aerial Platform Tower — T-1 — and celebrated firefighter promotions in a ceremony. KSNB

- ➤ CHI Health Good Samaritan and CHI Health St. Francis, the region's Primary Stroke Centers, earned national honors for quick stroke treatment from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association—recognizing their fast work to restore blood flow and reduce brain damage.
