GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Jim Pillen will ask state agencies to find 10% in savings equaling $500M in cuts to Nebraska’s general fund next year — a move that could lead to job losses and consolidations in key departments. The promoted leaders, including Firefighter/Paramedic Seth Ross, Firefighter/EMT Jared Stuzman, Firefighter Jason Selecman and battalion chief Ryan Seaman, will serve at all stations to meet community needs.  KSNB
  • Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen and Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced that the state will sue Colorado—alleging that it has withheld water and delayed progress on a major canal project. The lawsuit will aim to secure the water access needed for the canal's development.  The Grand Island Independent
