- ➤ Central Nebraska country artist Tim Zach has been nominated for three Josie Music Awards—County Male Vocalist of the Year, Country Male Emergent Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for 'Through The Neon Lights.' He will attend the show in Nashville on November 2 and feels honored by the recognition after building his career over the past 16 years. Central Nebraska Today
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Hall County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. in County Board Room 200 to review bids and contractor recommendations for a $40 million courthouse addition designed to consolidate court locations and improve security. Board Chair Ron Peterson said Chief Construction helped the board identify cost-saving measures to keep the project within budget. KSNB
- ➤ On July 8, the Grand Island City Council approved buying the Heartland Ag building at 3836 W. Highway 30 for $3.9 million to consolidate the Wastewater Division’s operations and provide a satellite location for the police department—improvements include new driveways, landscaping and building renovations. The purchase, set to close on Nov. 3, will let wastewater crews work from one site after using multiple buildings. Central Nebraska Today

- ➤ Today, Legacy 34 in south Grand Island now offers seven income-qualified rental units with rents of $995 for a one-bedroom and $1,195 for a two-bedroom (available to households earning 120% of the area median income or less).
