- ➤ Twenty-three new recruits began training at the NSP Training Academy in Grand Island on July 7—this marks the largest starting class in five years—and they will finish six months of instruction to graduate on December 19. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ The City of Grand Island is seeking emergency aid from the SBA and NEMA after a recent flood damaged dozens of homes and businesses. Officials are gathering damage reports — including input from all affected properties — to complete a disaster relief application that may secure low-interest loans and other support. - ➤ Grand Island Area on Trafficking held a meeting at Home Federal Bank near Stolley Park Road to review its hotels and motels initiative that offers resources like hotline numbers to help fight human trafficking.
