The 4-H Shooting Championship is underway in Grand Island as local youth sharpen their shooting skills with community support - the event is expected to continue through the weekend.

A new Grand Island Parks and Rec master plan shows strong support for an indoor facility with a pool+pickleball courts and spaces for tennis, fitness and art classes to serve residents during winter.

The plan awaits City Council approval and may use funds from the Good Life District to bring the long-held idea to life.

Grand Island police recovered a stolen 2018 Chevrolet Traverse on June 24 after a 32 year old woman reported the car missing from her driveway when its keys were left inside and took a 15 year old boy into custody.

NEBRASKAland DAYS announced that Luke Bryan canceled his Viaero Summer Jam Concert Series performance due to illness and that Eric Church + Joanna Cotten will headline Friday's show on June 27.

All tickets purchased for Bryan’s show were honored and refund requests could be submitted until 5:00 p.m. CT on June 25.

Grand Island nurse Kellee Schwieger was named the 2025 Caring Kind Award recipient today at St. Francis—recognized for her 40+ years of dedicated patient care.
