- ➤ Grand Island Little Theatre announced its summer musical comedy Disaster! for the season with multiple performances at College Park Auditorium—today at 7:30 p.m., on June 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and on June 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $17 for adults and $12 for students 12 and under with group discounts available at the box office. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, UNMC held a hands-on training session in Grand Island where future farmers learned safe tractor and ATV operation, basic first aid, and emergency response skills. Organizers plan two more sessions in June in O’Neill and York — a move to boost practical safety skills — as part of ongoing farm safety education. KSNB
- ➤ Grand Island police officers run a free summer youth program at Barr Middle School to help sixth graders prepare for middle school with lessons on leadership, bullying and anger management. The week-long program — which runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on most days — began Monday and gives up to 40 students team-building games such as tug of war and kickball before classes start in August.
