- ➤ The United Veterans Club in Hall County is celebrating 100 years of service to veterans today at 5 p.m.—members are invited to attend and pay $15 for entry. - ➤ A three-day blood drive across the Tri-Cities saw Hastings Police lead with 114 units, while Grand Island Police collected 46 units and Kearney Volunteer Fire Department gathered 66 units—bringing the total to 226 units of donated blood. KSNB
- ➤ Hope Harbor Shelter is asking for 40 box fans and meals to serve up to 60 people daily after a HVAC software issue left its air conditioning out while repairs are underway and expected to complete early next week. - ➤ Representative Mike Flood and four colleagues introduced the Weather Workforce Improvement Act on Friday to classify National Weather Service employees as public safety mission function workers—similar to FBI agents and air traffic controllers—to help fix staffing shortages.
