- ➤ Fonner Park is celebrating 72 years as it evolves from a horse racing track to a hub for fairs, livestock shows and gaming (including the State Fair and ARPA-funded upgrades) that boost local tourism today. KSNB
- ➤ Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Grand Island will host its first Memorial Day ceremony at 8:30 a.m. CT on Monday, May 25 with Reveille performed by the National Guard — the ceremony will include tributes, patriotic music and speeches from local military officials, and is open to the public. - ➤ On May 18, federal officials finalized a bacteria-based plan to clean up contaminated groundwater at the former Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant near Grand Island using native microbes + nutrients to break down pollutants faster while cutting costs. Nebraska TV
