- ➤ The Grand Island Area Farmers Market debuts for the season Saturday and will feature 60+ vendors including farm producers, craft vendors and bakeries. The Grand Island Independent
- ➤ A ceremony on Wednesday at Grand Island Senior High unveiled 76 new banners to honor local veterans, which will be posted along Broadwell and Webb roads to add to 51 banners from last year & funded by family, friends and employers. The Grand Island Independent

- ➤ Governor Pillen signed LB246 banning the production, sale, promotion & distribution of fake meat in Nebraska. The law, sponsored by Senator Barry DeKay, aims to protect ag producers and consumers from products grown in bioreactor machines with unknown health risks. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ GIAMPO is inviting community members to attend a Public Priorities Workshop for the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan on Thursday, June 5 from 4:30—6:30 p.m. at the Grand Island Public Library. The event will let participants explore alternatives for highways, transit, freight, bicycle and pedestrian facilities while feedback will help shape planning decisions for the next 25 years and an online option will open on June 5. - ➤ The City of Grand Island announced that City Hall, Crane Public Transit, Transit Office, Utilities Service Center, Solid Waste Facility, Public Library, GIPD Service Desk and Street and Fleet Office will be closed on Memorial Day while the Wastewater Treatment Plant remains open, and the Public Library will also be closed on May 25. The city said the cemetery will operate on May 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on May 25 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on May 26 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.—holiday decorations will be removed on June 9 while swimming facilities including Island Oasis Water Park, Lincoln Pool, Veterans Park Splash Pad and selected wading pools along with Jackrabbit Run Golf Course will run with set hours through the weekend. - ➤ Academy Road North is closed from Mirage Street to Baron Lane for essential utility connection work that began Tuesday, May 20 and will end Tuesday, June 10—motorists near Central Nebraska Regional Airport and the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center are advised to plan alternate routes.
