- ➤ After a tornado hit north of St. Libory, Hy-Vee Grand Island, alerted by a pastor’s call on Monday, served dinner to survivors. Helgoth’s Coffee also delivered snacks + drinks to support those affected. KSNB
- ➤ Volunteers aided tornado victims north of St. Libory on May 19 after a tornado damaged four homes on May 17. Helgoth’s Coffee, offering free food and beverages (donations accepted), led local cleanup efforts that continued until Friday as more support was expected. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ The Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department reminded residents that registration for the 2026 Grand Island Games closes Friday, July 3 — the multi-day event, scheduled from July 30 to Aug. 1, will feature activities like sand volleyball, tug-of-war, and axe throwing. Central Nebraska Today

- ➤ Grand Island’s Epic Discovery Center — set for a ribbon cutting on June 5 — will open in Ryder Park’s old armory to offer STEAM-based exhibits for children zero to 18, featuring interactive climbing and a pneumatic tube system. KSNB

- ➤ Today, the Nebraska Public Service Commission approved the joint merger application from Black Hills Energy and NorthWestern Energy to ensure continued reliable service.
