- ➤ Central Community College-Hastings held its 58th annual commencement on May 9 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island where about 390 candidates were honored and 48 earned honors as marked by an asterisk—showing their high grade averages. The Grand Island Independent
- ➤ Central Community College-Grand Island held its 39th annual commencement on May 9 at the Heartland Events Center, awarding about 320 degrees and recognizing 34 graduates who earned honors for a high GPA. - ➤ Lawmakers will debate overriding Gov. Jim Pillen’s veto on LB319, a bill that would let Nebraskans with three or more drug convictions receive SNAP benefits after completing treatment. The measure—set for debate on Monday afternoon—requires 30 votes to override the veto. KSNB
