- ➤ Central Platte Natural Resources District is hosting the Nebraska Children’s Groundwater Festival on Tuesday, May 12 in Grand Island, where 800 fifth-grade students will learn about groundwater through 37 interactive activities and hands-on sessions at Central Community College and College Park (over 100 volunteers will assist with event logistics). - ➤ The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest disaster loans up to $2 million to Nebraska small businesses and private nonprofits hit by drought since April 1.
