- ➤ Trinity United Methodist Church held a dedication ceremony on Sunday for its new Haven Garden to offer a safe space in Grand Island for both physical nourishment and spiritual care. The garden will support the church’s food programs and help address local food insecurity. KSNB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ NTV is partnering with the American Red Cross to hold its 22nd annual blood drive today from noon to 6 p.m. at locations in Kearney, Grand Island, and Hastings—donors can schedule appointments or walk in, and officials remind everyone that donations can be made every 56 days. Nebraska TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ava Kuszak hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to help the No. 20 Nebraska softball team beat the Maryland Terrapins 9-1 in a six-inning game on Sunday at Bowlin Stadium. With the win, Nebraska will play on May 8 in the Big Ten Tournament — a move that adds to its historic season record. KSNB
- ➤ Nebraska softball earned the No. 3 seed for the 2025 Big Ten Tournament that will begin Wednesday in West Lafayette, Ind.—the Cornhuskers will play the winner of Iowa and Penn State on Thursday at 10 a.m. after receiving a first-round bye. Central Nebraska Today
