- ➤ United Veterans Club in Grand Island announced it will fly its 5x8 flag year-round and a larger flag from Memorial Day to Veterans Day after repairing a cracked foundation. - ➤ Fonner Park was named the 2026 Business of the Year by the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation and Chamber of Commerce. The award will be celebrated during the Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 25 at Boulder Flats with a social event starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Nebraska Today
