- ➤ All Aboard for Stolley Park has raised about $705,000 toward its $750,000 goal to upgrade the park’s train and add park improvements using city funds—as volunteers rode the train on April 22, recalling childhood memories. The group will host a concert by String Beans at Grand Island Senior High School on May 1 as part of the Go Big Give campaign to help reach the remaining amount for the $3 million project. - ➤ A northbound Kawasaki EX300 motorcycle lost control west of the intersection of S. North Road and Stolley Park Road on April 22 at 6:48 p.m. when 21-year-old Jose Mendoza crashed into a power pole, was pronounced dead at the scene — police are investigating the incident. Central Nebraska Today
