- ➤ Buffalo County Sheriff's Office searched Saturday for 20-year-old Joseph Vanhorn—a registered sex offender wanted on three felony warrants for absconding from the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, failing probation, and possessing a controlled substance—and urged anyone with information to call 911, the sheriff’s office at 308-246-8555 or Buffalo County Crimestoppers at 308-237-3424. - ➤ James Thompson Jr., the 22-year-old accused of stabbing 72-year-old Gary Weaver to death at an I-80 rest stop near Grand Island, was ruled unfit for trial on Friday and will remain at the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment with his next competency review scheduled for June 10 at 8:30 a.m. KSNB
