- ➤ WarHorse Gaming warned the public that online ads promoting a fake mobile app—reportedly misleading viewers about legal online gaming—are scams not linked with the company and misrepresent Nebraska law. KSNB
- ➤ A suspect was arrested on Saturday, April 5 after breaking into an apartment on West John St. and assaulting a 39-year-old resident—Mayra Almayra was booked for burglary, second degree assault and use of a weapon in a felony. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested 39-year-old Gustavo Diaz Rodriquez from Morgan City, Louisiana after a Dawson County Sheriff’s Office stop turned into a pursuit Sunday night—he fled in a Ram pickup, led a 30-minute chase on county roads, entered a residence driveway, and was caught on foot with charges of flight to avoid arrest, reckless driving, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and driving under the influence of alcohol. - ➤ Governor Pillen signed a letter of intent on Monday asking USDA to remove soda and energy drinks from SNAP purchases in Nebraska; state officials (from DHHS) said no benefit amounts will change and that grocers will design a plan after USDA approval. KSNB

- ➤ Jockey Jose Medina rode Arthurian to a half-length win in the $25,000 Dowd Mile at Fonner Park on Saturday — trainer David Anderson praised the perfect ride that helped the older gelding overcome a previous narrow loss in the Tondi Stakes on March 22.
