- ➤ Today, the Nebraska Department of Labor said that the state’s preliminary unemployment rate for February is 3.0 percent, up 0.1 point from the previous month and 0.4 point higher than last February. The labor force reached a record high of 1,077,890 and nonfarm jobs grew by 4,754 over the month—keeping Nebraska tied for the fifth lowest rate in the nation. Central Nebraska Today

- ➤ Second graders at Shoemaker Elementary took part in the 8th annual March Reading Madness where each class read two picture books a day and voted on their favorites.
