- ➤ Contemporary Christian artist Phil Wickham will bring a worship concert with special guest Jamie MacDonald on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. inside the Heartland Events Center during the Nebraska State Fair. - ➤ Dr. Kent Mann was sworn in as the new member of Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education on March 16 after being appointed on Feb 12 to replace Josh Sikes. Mann + 73 brings 44 years of experience and has filed for election; his term ends in 2026. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ On March 16, the Grand Island Public Schools Board approved its 2024-2025 Annual Report with detailed student statistics, a new postcard distribution featuring a QR code, and its 80-90-100 strategic plan, while also approving construction and engineering agreements for Gates Elementary and the Senior High School planetarium renovation.
