- ➤ Othman Mohamad was arrested in Grand Island on March 14 after he allegedly struck a victim and his roommate’s dog with a piece of wood trim—police said he now faces charges including assault and animal mistreatment. Central Nebraska Today

- ➤ National Ag Week is celebrating Nebraska’s leading role in agriculture—highlighting strong beef, pork, and crop performance as well as 24 ethanol plants that produced over 2.3 billion gallons last year. - ➤ Senators are debating a new 76-page bill that could change the DHHS reports on Medicaid and behavioral health centers—some senators say it should be reviewed section by section while discussions continue today. Nebraska TV
- ➤ The City of Grand Island announced a $13 million project to reconstruct South Locust Street between Fonner Park Road and Koenig Street; the plan replaces asphalt with concrete curb and gutter, adds a roundabout at the Locust, Anna and Bismark intersection, and updates a century-old water main and sewer lines (funded by the city's half-cent sales tax).
