- ➤ Farmers gathered at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds for the annual symposium hosted by the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board, where experts from local universities discussed research on increasing yields and precision farming practices amid rising input costs. KSNB

- ➤ Grand Island Public Schools has named Rachel Harper as the new assistant principal at Dodge Elementary for the 2026-27 school year. Harper, who brings six years' leadership experience (from Gering Public Schools), will meet staff, students and families before the school year begins. Nebraska TV

- ➤ Grand Island Police Department’s K9 Mando received a bullet & stab protective vest donated by nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. to help keep him safe on duty. Central Nebraska Today
- ➤ Members of the Grand Island Rural Fire Department returned home after helping fight the Cottonwood wildfires in Lincoln, Dawson and Frontier counties over the weekend (their 48-hour shifts allowed them brief rest). Officials continue to urge residents to follow safety guidance. KSNB
