- ➤ Sen. Dan Lonowski of Hastings introduced a bill today that will change the waiting period for retired teachers helping in schools from 180 days with exceptions to 120 days with no volunteer exceptions, as supported by the Nebraska State Education Association. KSNB

- ➤ The Nebraska baseball team began its season 3-0 with a 9-1 win over Grand Canyon on Sunday in Mesa, Ariz. They will face Stanford next in Scottsdale, Ariz, with pregame starting at 1:30 p.m. and first pitch at 2 p.m. Central Nebraska Today
