- ➤ Superintendent Matt Fisher presented a preliminary three-phase facility plan at the Feb. 12 Board meeting, detailing Phase 1 renovations at Gates Elementary beginning Fall 2026 and future upgrades at middle and high schools via bond elections (public feedback is requested) (enrollment growth is projected). - ➤ The Grand Island Public School Board has selected Dr. Kent Mann to fill the vacant Ward A seat, adding experienced educational leadership to the district. KSNB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education approved video security upgrades at 12 district buildings by an 8-0 vote after Dan Petsch's presentation. The project will enhance safety at several schools and cost about $1.56 million. Central Nebraska Today
