➤ Today, Nebraska SNAP benefits will no longer cover soda and energy drinks—part of a federal move aimed at cutting unhealthy food purchases in five states, which will affect local stores and customers over a two-year period with a possible three-year extension. KSNB
➤ Nebraska becomes the first state to restrict soda and energy drinks from SNAP purchases starting today after Gov. Pillen secured a waiver from U.S. Agriculture.
